I loved the hard swipe right in iOS 10 to force close apps. I’m not a fan of the double home button tap in iOS 11. Anyone discover a better way?

Four finger pinch is workin on my iPad but not on my iPhone. Also bringing the control center on iPad shows open apps, also doesn’t work on iPhone.

Hold power button until swipe to shut down appears. Let go of power button and hold home button. After about 8 seconds it will restart your app. It used to make it force quit in iOS 10.

Apple exec has confirmed that the feature you are describing will be back in a future update to iOS 11. Hang tight.
