Last week I purchased the AirPods Pro 2nd Gen b/c Best Buy had them at $60 off. I'm just not sure if I can get used to the feel of the rubber tips after years of using the AirPods 2nd Gen, so I'm interested in trying out the AirPods 4 w/ ANC today.

My question is on the stem control. It took me a few days, but I got used to the touch control on the stem of the 2nd Gen Pro's without causing much movement in my ear. It looks like the 4's have the same "Force Sensor" as the AirPods 3, which I've never had. So I'm wondering how exactly that works, and for those with the 3's (or maybe with the 4's this early today?) if there are concerns over the 4's moving around in your ear every time you have to use the Force Sensor? Since the 2nd Gen Pro's seal in your ear a bit tighter, they don't move much (if at all) once you're used to it. That's my concern with the 3's / 4's - since they don't seal the same, will they move a lot when using the controls?

Thanks

Squeezing them works the same on the non-Pros, the only thing you can't do is swipe them to turn the volume up/down.

In terms of the AP3/AP4 moving around, at some point I subconsciously just started squeezing them between my thumb and middle finger with my index finger resting on the top of the bud to hold it in place. They don't move around if you can get used to doing it like that.

Yup, exactly as @MasterControlProgram says. Squeezing your AirPods Pro 2 performs the same exact functions as your old AirPods. The the APP2 can also do via touch is if you swipe up or down on the stem, it changes the volume.

My issue with that swiping is during my long runs or hot runs when I get very sweaty. Swiping up or down often doesn't change the volume because the stem isn't able to read that my sweaty fingers are swiping. No way around it. I can only change the volume with my Watch at that point but that is also highly inconvenient when I'm running (because I'm often running while timed).
