Hi all,

With the release of lossless audio, I was wondering if it was possible to force lossless streaming instead of playing the local downloaded file?

Due to space constraints on the MAC, I don't want to download my entire catalog in lossless. But I would like an offline copy for when Internet etc. is down.

Looking for the best of both worlds:
Download the song in 256 AAC. But when connected to the Internet, force streaming of lossless

(Hope i making sense)

Thanks

Yes, this is possible. Go to Preferences in your Music App and select the Playback tab then take a look at the Audio Quality Section.

Thanks for the reply. I tried that. Without downloading the file, it shows the lossless Icon when playing. So streaming in lossless. I then downloaded the file and because of the settings, it shows AAC (which is fine). But then when i played the file, it played the downloaded file and didn't stream the lossless version. Only when i removed the download, did i get the lossless track back. So although i have the file downloaded, I am looking for a choice to stream rather than play the local file.

Ohhh. I misunderstood what you meant. Sorry! ? Yeah... That might be an issue as the app prefers downloaded content no matter what. Maybe someone else can chime in? Maybe send a feature request to Apple? Sorry that I couldn't be more of an assistance!
