How do I prevent my Apple Watch (Ultra 2) from displaying random bits of information from apps? I am NOT talking about how long my watch is set to display the time before it gets dim. I am talking about raising my wrist to look at my watch and it isn't displaying the watch face. Instead, it is displaying some weather graph or other information that I have absolutely ZERO interest in. And, to get rid of it, I must swipe or press the crown.

I just want to look at the TIME! You know, because it is a WATCH.

I want to force my Apple Watch to ONLY display the chosen watch face (Astronomy with Time and Date) until I physically do something to change the screen (swipe the screen, turn or press the crown, etc.).

Any ideas?

it's called Smart Stack or widgets, and no, there is no way around it unfortunately.
you can delete ll the widgets that are there by default, you'll get a half screen of o watch and date and the bottom "touch and hold to add widgets", little better (for me) than all that useless stuff (for me).
I don't like it either but best to provide feedback to Apple.

Go into Settings > Smart Stack.
Go into Allow Live Activities and turn it off.
Backtrack one level and go into Widget Suggestions. Turn that off too.

I think that should stop it.
This works for me……Thus far. No issues.

no, scroll up on the crown and you'll still get the widget screen, happens to me. it is certainly better, but not what OP is asking for.
There should be a setting "allow widgets screen yes/no".

It is, in fact, exactly what the OP is asking for.

ok, I stand corrected.
There are still times when I look at my watch it shows the widget screen, most likely cause Digital Crown movement even though I didn't touch the watch.
And yes, I had enabled the settings you describe back when they became available (watchOS 11?).

Thank you for the replies.

I already had Smart Stack Allow Live Activities turned off. I just now turned off Widget Suggestions.

One of the things that seems to constantly pop up on the screen is "Enable Music Detection". No, I don't want to Enable Music Detection, EVER. And it is driving me batty that everytime my Apple Watch is in an area with music in the background the stupid watch is asking me if I want to enable Music Detection. F no! Quit asking! Grrrr...

Music Detection or Music Recognition? The latter is a "Live Activity" and you can turn it off in the Watch app on your iPhone.

Open the Watch app on your iPhone
Tap Smart Stack
Tap Music Recognition
Slide the bar off.
