I visit sites on the web everyday for three to four hours a day. For the last four days, my NcMP has shut down and wont restart until I pull and reinsert the power plug. At first I thought it was site specific, but it doesn't seem to be. Today it happened while I was in Google Maps, street view. Yesterday It happened here:

It seems strange❓

No problem on an iPad. Will check the Mac Pro in an hour.

**Do you have other large programs running in the background. The auto page is heavy with graphics.
And which browser did you use.

Back ...
There was an Apple update of some kind which made it slower to check.
_the Mac Pro 7,1 currently has the auto website up on both Chrome and Safari. They took a lot of time to load. The front page is very heavy with information and graphics.
No issues with this.
The Mac Pro also has FCPX compound clip running and Premier Pro is open with a tutorial project up and running.
It has not shut down since I went to the website.
Activity monitor says memory use is at 39 gb.
Oh ... this website is also open at the same time and I am writing.
It is lunch time ending so the editor is coming back. This is all I can help.
.... and Apollo twin is up and running.

Even though the page is open on Chrome... it shows this.... which is the spinning wheel at the top nest to the name of the website (left side top) and at the bottom is says connecting. This didn't stop until nearly 2 minutes. So loading is such a long time.

AND.... for anyone using Pixel Film Studio _transition effects.... In the compound clip, where there are transition effects, there is some frame dropping. When the clip advances to where there are no transition effects but lots of lots and other effects, there is no frame rate drop-age.

Just FYI

Well, after going a couple of weeks as all good, the issue popped up again while I was in that GM site. Guess I'll avoid it ?

It may be a long shot, but could it be your font cache? I've had issues with my font cache that rendered Safari extremely slow and brought the machine to a crashing halt.

Nothing slow about it. While browsing today on that site, suddenly black screen then Mac Shuts down!

How to delete a font cache? I never heard of this.

MacOS maintenance apps like Cocktail have the option to empty font caches. On my system, I had extremely slow and buggy Safari performance as well as FCP issues. When I emptied the font cache and restarted, everything went back to normal. Couldn’t be happier.
