Hi all. I have a video posted on YouTube which I would like to show my friends, but it defaults in low quality, and High Quality has to be manually selected. Is there a way to give them the link in such a way that they can immediately be shown the HQ version upon clicking?

YouTube defaults to low quality - although I think individual users can set their preferences.

you can use keepvid.com to grab the link of the hq video by typing in the url of your video, however, unless they use a browser that has a video plugin installed (like firefox) then the video will just download to their hard drive.
There is no preference on youtube to force this, however, you can add annotations to persuade.
