Someone connected to a friend of mine has some ipod nano's from Persia I believe and is willing to sell it to me a a deep discounted price. I'm led to believe it is new, I hope in a box.

I don't exactly know this person so I'm not sure what to believe. Are the exchange rates/prices for ipods cheaper in Persia, enough to profit in re-selling in the US?

Stuck in the middle with you
First of all, Persia isn't a country anymore. Persia = Iran. Secondly, due to embargoes, I doubt any Ipod from there is Legal and/or Real. Third, I'm pretty sure that nowhere has cheaper prices the US.

Walk Away.

It's probably imitation, but who knows. Also don't forget that if you purchase something abroad, you have to pay customs. If you add this rate to your purchase, you will see that there isn't much of a margin anymore and you could better buy it at a local store. I wanted to import things and sell here in the Netherlands, but found out that it wasn't worth it because of the customs duties.

this is supposed to be a very loose transaction, brought upon by the aunt (who has the nanos) to the niece who works with my friend. Imitation could be the reason, then I'll just decline. I don't think the aunt stole an apple truck or anything, and I don't think she was ever going to sell from or to a store. Just someone she knew.

who knows. I'll let you guys know how this goes in a week. I hope it's real though.

The problem is, I repeat, this person is claiming this ipod is from Persia. Persia is not a country. buyer beware.

Persia is no longer the name of the country. However official titles doesn't stop people from saying that they went to Persia, or would rather associate being Persian.
