Hi,

I've been reading that people are traveling with their iPads and think that a thread (hopefully sticky) with network settings might make traveling with the iPad easier. I currently live in Finland but have been to Italy so here are my settings. I encourage others to contribute.

Great idea for a thread!

Terve! What store can I get a microsim in Helsinki for iPad? Prepaid? I will be in Salo for a few weeks in December to see family and it would be great to have prepaid internet. Moikka.

Moro, moro. Go to Sonera or Saunalahti (they do not have microsims but you have scissors, have a microsim. :) )

P.S. I'm not Finnish, the gov't just sees fit to post me here. :)

The best offer I can give is through 3 (UK).
Get a 3 pay as you go sim, cut it down to size.

Heres the nice bit, get the internet add on, its £5 a month, (I think it can be done online through the iPad, still need to test, haven't had a chance, been using the basic prepaid dongle sim in an iPad instead, 12GB valid for 12 months for £35). The add on is for their 'unlimited internet' which has a 2GB fair usage policy, which isn't too bad.

Or you can get prepaid 1GB or 3GB sims off eBay, which aren't very expensive, or other network, prepaid ones as well. Saves you the hassle of signing a contract. Just remember you may have to cut down a sim.
