Hi
I had set a PIN lock for my iPhone and I broke my iPhone a few days ago, so when I got it back fixed, I realized that I have forgotten my password. I kept on trying to unlock it several times but the iPhone, as a result, has been disabled and It requires me to connect to iTunes. When I connected to iTunes, I held shift and clicked on "restore", selected the iOS 9 IPSW file. After extracting the software, It told me that there was an error (3194), I searched for reasons for this error so I had to update iTunes; however, the iTunes was already up-to-date. Is there any way I could recover my iPhone password without needing to download the update iOS 9.0.2?

make sure you have the correct ispw file for your model

anyways why would you target a custom ispw file as iTunes will download the latest and correct package for you?

Just turn off the device, hold the home button and connect to the computer. The device should boot into recovery mode (ofcourse you can do it manually by turning on and holding the home button, but I prefer this way ;-))

If iTunes does not work out for you, try Apple configurator :)

Thanks for your response, but I am sure i'm using the correct IPSW file because It has been downloaded from iTunes previously. I can't download the newest iOS version because my Internet connection is not stable, so the download may be canceled at any time.

Can you tell me more about 'Apple configurator' ? I just need a way to reset my iPhone passcode without needing to download any IPSW files. I've also read about solving error number 3194, the steps to solve the error included editing the "Hosts" notepad file, I needed to remove the some link the file included but It wasn't there. Please if you know any way to get into my iPhone without downloading ipsw, help me!

theres no reason to download an ispw manually unless you want to keep it for later., or if you do what i do and download it from a faster wifi network

just connect the iPhone to iTunes and do a backup erase and restore
and that will clear its lock code
now if you never backed it up to iTunes your in trouble, hopefully it will be backed up to iCloud
and you will be able to erase it from www.cloud.com and restore it from iCloud over wifi

Apparently, FindMyIPhone is switched off so iCloud won't see my devices.

Yes i have a backup on iTunes, but I have only one option once i connect to iTunes; restore & update. I can't only restore.

Its probably because your ipsw isn't signed with Apple now.

There two things that might need a fix
I dont think the ipsw file is the correct one.
Please redownload it from the apple support page, not somewhere else

Have you made any changes to your hosts file ever? Make sure you don't manually root any host from apple

Is your iTunes up to date? Make sure it is
