I'm looking for a freeware from creator. I need to make some forms to print out and have not been able to find anything so far. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

I don't know that you'll find anything for free, what do you need the form to do?

I need to create a basic form for people to fill out with name, address, phone #, etc. Very basic and simple but I wanted it to look a little better then something done with OpenOffice or MS Word. Does that help?

So it doesn't need to be an online form that emails itself or anything? Just a pdf or hard-copy?

I think your best bet, for the price, will be either OpenOffice or Word. You can use those to make it look really professional, that's not hard. Ask too much more, and you'll have to start looking for paid(expensive) software.

Yes, a basic form to print out. No email forms or HTML.

Are their any cheap form creators you would recommend?

I'm not sure of any cheap ones for OS X, or windows for that matter, but there is Adobe LiveCycle, which is part of Acrobat. But that's close to $300.

Maybe someone else will chime in with a better recommendation, BTW, what is wrong with using a word processor?

Nothing is wrong with a word processor. I was just trying to find something a little nicer. I've got a few other forms I'm going by and you can't do that kind of stuff in word. I'm working in NeoOffice right now on my form.

Ok, no problem. Just didn't know if there was something you wanted in the form, that you couldn't do with a wp.

For something that simple, Word would be best. You already know Word, I'm assuming, so you wouldn't have to learn a new program.
Especially if it's a simple form. My advice would be, keep it simple, keep it clean & use a single font. I'd recommend a sans serif, and then use print to .pdf to make a a.pdf.

Have a look at www.xara.com . It is a graphic design/drawing program and not anything specifically for making forms. I have used it to create many forms, brochures and pdf's etc. I have only very basic skills in that area so the program is very easy to use. You can easily make outline boxes, shaded areas, different size text and arrange and resize them however you want. You can download a free trial for 30 days. It is somewhere around 70-80 dollars to buy. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the help everyone. I think I've got it figured out. For now at least.:)

There are templates in Word that could possibly work, so you technically don't have to create/design anything fancy. But it's already laid out for you.

Also, what about iWork? I love their Pages program; much better than Word.
