Running Windows XP and the latest version of Itunes. Streaming movies from a 2 terabyte HD. Using an old version of ATV ( not the newest one ) this one is 9 months old.
ATV was working before; just haven't used it in awhile. Went to watch a movie and a error message popped up stating that "The selected video could not be played. The format was not recognized" The said video does play in Itunes on my Laptop; so there is nothing wrong with the video or it's format. I also tried playing a TV show; got the same message. Did a cold reboot of the ATV and restarted windows and Itunes; same thing.
Any way to get rid of this error message and be able to watch movies again??

Thanks in advance

Close iTunes, open it, then In iTunes click on a movie and let in play within iTunes. Should fix it

Thanks for your prompt reply. That did work; but I had to do it several times. Now I have to figure out what is up with my laptop. It doesn't want tp play movies through Itunes properly; lots of stuttering. If I play the movie through one of my other programs; it plays properly. Go figure!!!
