Hi,

What is the difference in formatting a USB Stick or external HD
to ExFat vs. the Mac OS Extened/Journaled Format ?

Can they both be read and written to between a Mac and W10 ?

Windows needs a third party driver to read the macOS formatting. A Mac will read ExFat without problems so is the best solution to use for both of them to share it.
