Hello,

I have a SanDisk USB Memory Stick that I formatted
in my iMac as ExFat.

Works just fine in the Mac.

I chose EXFAT as the format, as it was my understanding that EXFAT should
be usable in both the Mac, and also in a W10 pc.

But apparently not. ?

It not only will not be read or opened up at all in the W10 pc,
it freezes the mouse cursor. What might be wrong ? (plenty of room on the stick)

a. Shouldn't EXFAT formatted sticks be readable in both ?

b. Should I choose a different format; I need a stick that is readable in both the Mac and W10 pc's ?

Thanks, as always,
Bob

I find Disk Utility very ureliable for formatting disks for Windows/Xbox. and tend to do them in W10 instead (as EXFAT or NTFS). I also use Paragon NTFS for Mac so that I can read & write to NTFS-fortmatted disks.

I agree with ^^
Format the stick in Windows. ExFAT could be your best choice, or just fat32 if you never expect files larger than 4GB (depends on the device, to some extent. Some won't allow files larger than 2.1 GB.)
