I hope someone has the answer to this.

I bought the OWC Aura kit for my Macbook with a 1TB ssd. All good, all worked great with no problems. But now I have replaced the original Apple ssd in the mac as I have upgraded to a 2019 16" mac.

So,I have now got a 1TB Aura ssd that I was going to use as an external drive, but the enclosure doesn't support it. So that means I could sell it, but to do that I would need to clear my data from it, but how can I do that if it can't be mounted externally?

Hope that makes sense.

Was FileVault on? If so, sell it as is. Nobody can see your data without the key.

If FileVault wasn’t on, you have two choices:
- Put it back in the MacBook to reformat.
- Buy a compatible case.

Thanks for your reply. Well I've looked for a compatible enclosure but they all state they are for the apple ssd only and the OWC aura will not work. So it looks like it will be reformatting in the mac as I'm not sure if filevault was operating or not.
