I loved my iphone 4s jailbreak. Paid for many hacks and jailbreaks. Unfortunately my power button broke and battery life was horrible (would go from 20% to 0 overnight). As I use my phone for work and need it overnight, decided to use my AppleCare and receive a replacement which put me on ios 7. I get 36 hours on my battey now, which I love, but miss my hacks

Overall, I like ios7 and think it has improved on many features. There are times when I think jailbreaking isnt as necessary, with quick controls to turn on bluetooth, music on the lock screen, larger folders, etc

But there are many things I miss...
-SwipeSelectKeyboard (or whatever it was called) was invaluable and made editting text so much easier
-Springomotize, but mostly because I liked having a 7 item dock.

Things I wouldn't do again
-Theming (always seemed to eat battery, remember reading this may be moot as winterboard may not support ios 7?)

Hacks I want
disable spotlight drag down
better animaitons ( i turne doff the zoom but dont like the fade)
visual weather on the lock screen

Macrumors readers.. what hacks do you miss? Any good ideas for programmers to work on to improve ios7?

I am looking forward for a hack that enables blur effects on iPad 2, the device ifself can handle those effects but Apple disabled them for marketing reasons.

To be honest, I don't really miss much of anything. I was big into theming when jailbroken, and if/when an iOS 7 jailbreak comes out I'll probably do it and theme again...but honestly, I spent more time trying to get things to look just how I wanted than enjoying the themes themselves.

iOS 7 has the vast majority of things I would jailbreak for, and I really haven't even thought about the wait since getting iOS 7. I'm not even 100% sure I will jailbreak when it comes out, and I know I won't be JBing my iPad (since there isn't much to do there anyway).

Modified hosts file, SwipeSelection, Zephyr, and F.lux. Those are my biggest tweaks I miss. Those completely change the UI/UX in such a positive and useful way. They are critical. I have a bunch others but those I miss the most since I used them pretty much every single time I used my device.

Really looking forward to a jailbreak! Fingers crossed!

I miss biteSMS and LockInfo. And I do miss being able to theme a little - I never ran into any battery issues with it.

Agreed 100% on SwipeSelect, I miss it terribly. When I first updated, it took me a while to break the habit of trying to slide :(

Push for Gmail, or whatever it was called, was also really great. I much prefer Apple's native mail app to the Gmail app, but lack of push for gmail accounts is rather annoying (I know that this is google's fault, not apple's, but the jailbreak tweak fixed it rather nicely)

I also miss being able to see the wifi SSID in place of my carrier name; most of the time, it doesn't matter, but there are some situations (when crossing over from one SSID to another) that I like to be able to see what I'm on. Plus do I really need a reminder every time I look at my phone who I pay my bill to every month?

I miss TypeStatus. i also think notification center should have more functionality/options which a jailbreak will surely address.

When Apple implements a quick reply (BiteSMS) into their texting, then is the time that I will be happy enough to go stock. Although having Fakeclockup is nice.

Im with you on that.
And some Anti-theft features like IgotYa would be nice.
This way at least you have a face and a location of the person who stole your phone.

I miss Zephyr, bitesms, music controls pro, pandora tweaks. Other than that I am very happy with ios 7,

I just need WifiFoFum as I'm in my bedroom most of the time and have poor wifi connection.

iOS 7 has addressed most of the features whose absence really frustrated me when I was unjailbroken on iOS 5/6. The only tweak I find myself really missing is Five Icon Dock/Infinidock. Yes, are a few other tweaks that I will definitely install again (especially F.lux and Cyntact) but there is nothing I miss as much as I used to miss SB Settings (which Control Center ably replaces) or Music Controls Pro (which the improved native controls have made mostly obsolete).

Well, with iOS 7's activation lock the only way to prevent Find My Phone from working is to remove the SIM or restore in DFU mode...steps which will prevent IgotYa from working, too. And with activation lock a phone restored in DFU mode will be useless to a thief without your Apple ID and password. Overall, I think it's far more secure than an iPhone on iOS 6 with IgotYa. Certainly it's a great deterrent to iPhone theft in the first place.

I think, for instance, that my wife would have gotten the iPad she inadvertently left at my children's daycare back if it had been impossible for the finder simply to restore and use it.

Does anybody know any apps that are similar as iCleaner? I just upgraded to 7.0.3 last night and I miss that app.

MovieBox is also another app that I miss.

I used to install a bunch of stuff on my 4s when it was jailbroken. I guess the fad died down for me with ios7 or whatever but I don't really miss anything right now. Only thing I would want is biteSMS

I hear you.
Even though it would be paper weight after the ios 7 activation lock it would also be nice to get a few mugshots of the thief.
Cause you know the first thing anyone usually tries before they even think about popping out the sim is to try to enter a pin a bunch of times.
Snapshot right there and at least you have something to go on as proof to show the cops if it goes that far. At least you would have known which crooked day care teacher snatched it:D

Bite SMS, infinidock (really miss this), folder enhancer and would like more control on what goes in the control center.

I finally just gave up the ghost and dropped my old unlimited plan and joined the same plan as the wife and kids. We all share 8gb now, plenty (based on my past usage) and I can tether whenever I want. Also gave me access to three other upgrades to use and trade as needed.

Like others have already stated:

- Zephyr (using a physical button is so 2010)
- flux
- Any of the tethering hacks
- BiteSMS quick replies
- Nitrous (why Apple doesn't allow other devs access to the nitro java boggles me)

I also had a lot of apps that added functionality, but meh, I really don't need them (iFile).
