I am trying to figure out how to transition back to my gmail.com email address. I like MobileMe ok, but I've had .mac for about a year and it hasn't knocked my socks off.

I looked in preferences in Mobile Me but couldn't figure it out. Can I forward mail from me.com to gmail, just like I was forwarding mail from gmail to mac.com?

I tried searching but couldn't find anything...

you can use pop access, and there should be an option somewhere to forward all your mail to a different address (hmm, mobile me site sorta moved everything around...).

That's what I figured, but for some odd reason (unless it's buried super deep) I didn't find it on my first pass through the mobileme site....

In the mail web app, if you click the picture of the gear icon with the pulldown icon next to it, then select Preferences, it's under Other.

You can also setup gmail to poll your .Mac account...

I keep my gmail as a running tally of everything I have ever owned. So right now I have everything coming into my MM copied (forwarded) to gmail and a rule in gmail that if it didnt come from me to forward to my MM. It works great despite the odd logic.

I have always had a gmail account and ran it side by side with my .Mac account

My gmail was used for family/friends and my .mac (now .me) was used for business.

At this point, GMail is now being used for both due to the complete instability of MobileMe

You can set up your GMail to access your .Mac/Mobile Me account. I was very upset that IE6 is not compatable with Mobile Me and I can no longer access my account at work. I'll probably not renew now because if I can't use it and my iDisk at work it just isn't worth the money. So for now I set my GMail up to receive my Mac mail. Just go to Settings/Accounts/Add another mail account. It's real easy.:D
