They do make accessories that will let you use Bluetooth, however, this doesn't mean that the iTouch has Bluetooth built in.

Itouch has Bluetooth

i dont know if this helps anyone. but recently when i ssh'd into my itouch
i found a folder called bluetool i opened it up and it had 4 files
it looked like this

dutmode.script

iPhone1,1.deepsleep.script

iPhone1,1.init.script

pcm-example.script

next i turned them into txt files so i would know what they said

the 1 i found most interesting was

iPhone1,1.deepsleep.script it said this:

#
# Script to put a CSR chip into deep sleep mode
#
device -d /dev/cu.bluetooth
power off
reset on
power on
msleep 50
reset off
msleep 500
autobaud
hci reset
csr -s
quit

(it was in a long line b/c it was opened in notepad)
if anyone needs more info post me a reply

Notice it says, "put a CSR chip into deep sleep mode"
Seems to me that just a communications script for an accessory adapter like the one in the video. It's illogical that Apple would have secretly included a bluetooth chip. The disassemblers would have caught the chip anyway. It simply isn't there.

I´ve got the mini speakers showed in the video and they work fine but if i leave it plugged in my touch even if it is in sleep mod it drains he battery .

So my advice : only plug it when you want to use it.

Saludos

There might be a chance where apple just didn't want to change production, so they included a bluetooth chip, waiting to be unvieled with the SDK or somethin.

not there

I'm still confused as to why people want to believe that the touch has bluetooth in it. There simply is no bluetooth module in the touch. All the code that says other wise is one of the following:

1. Left over from the iphone
2. To be used with future seperate bluetooth modules.

wikipedia on iTouch 2.0 and Bluetooth

Wikipedia states this about the Itouch 2.o and Bluetooth
. . . "Although unannounced and unsupported by Apple, the iPod Touch has Bluetooth capability, as the included WiFi chip (Broadcom BCM4325) has Bluetooth and FM Radio support, as well as the advertised Wi-Fi capability.[16] It is believed that this Bluetooth capability is being used for Nike+iPod support, as Apple has said that the Nike+iPod kit works on an unspecified 2.4 GHz radio frequency."....

THEY DID IT'S THERE BUT IT IS FOR THE NIKE+IPOD THING.There is look i took apart my new old itouch 2G and so did alot of other people under a silver flap there is a blue tooth thing its true. QUOTE from http://arstechnica.com/ "Easily the most interesting thing about the "funnest iPod ever" is that iFixit found a Broadcom BCM4325 Bluetooth chip inside (translation: the iPod touch now has Bluetooth—kinda)."

I'm still confused why people still insist there isn't a bluetooth module in there. It has been proven time and time again that the wifi "chip" that is used in the 2g also has bluetooth but it is either crippled from the factory or (most likely) apple just hasn't enabled it in the firmware.
