Just read about the demise of Modo. Not that I kept tabs on its development in recent years but: Wow! That came out of nowhere.
I believe Modo counts as a pretty major 3D application on the Mac to this day?

I'm so so so glad that when it came to making a decision about what 3D software to go with I settled for Blender all these years ago, not Modo which was the runner-up. Back then I was escaping the grip of Autodesk and their looming forced subscription and suspected that the Foundry would end up getting on that bandwagon themselves soon enough seeing how they had been passed around from one owner to the next. Plus Blender proved to be so much more scriptable/flexible for my uses that it seemed like a no-brainer - even before it really blew up in popularity.
Phew! And sorry for all those Modo users who'll now have to look for a new home ... in time.
