Looking for recommendation for (hopefully) free 2D CAD program to run under 10.11.6 on my mid-2014 MacBook Pro (16G RAM, 500G SSD)

Did you find anything? A coworker recommended QCAD but surprised that I’ve found very little information and what I’ve tried were all free trials that turned into expensive plans.

You can try LibreCAD. It's forked from QCAD with some updates. Plus the site has forums for some help.

You can also run Linux in a VM if there is some open source CAD program you want to try which is only built for Linux.
