Thanks for the heads-up on this aerok...much appreciated.

I don't do a lot of architectural photography except when travelling so I didn't want to spend a lot on an app for perspective control that's not included in Aperture.

This is just a quick first try with it.

DXO 8 works just great for this even if I use it for nothing else. Of course, you can't beat the price. :) Very easy and very cool.

Thanks bhtwo. You've got nothing to loose by trying it. Of course there is a bit of a learning curve but that's no different than any comprehensive application.

Looks like it did great at removing fringing and distortion

I think it depends what you want to do with it. Automatic corrections based on camera/lens profiles and working with a RAW file - I don't think so.

Some of the manual corrections of a TIFF or JPEG file seem to be working just fine with a D810.

DXO has a sharpening element too. Plus various other effects. Maybe dpreview would have what you are looking for?

Scratch that I just looked. They do camera and lens comparison but not software.
 
I gave it a quick run through and guess it's OK but I prefer having full manual control in Lightroom or Camera Raw.

If you look at the bottom of the pictures where the trees are under Dancing Queen, you'll also notice that color fringing is also noticeably reduced. And shadowing was reduced on some of the building to show more details.

aerok, thank you for posting the info about DXO Pro 8 available for free. As an amateur photog who has used PSE for years and never had a need for an app more robust for image editing, I took advantage of "free" and found DXO Pro 8 to be an excellent adjunct to PSE, though not a replacement. However, my initial experience with Pro 8 was frustration in that I couldn't find the "SAVE" or "SAVE AS" command. I have since learned what "PROCESS" means!

Yeah the program does have its learning cruve but once you understand it, it can do great things!
 
When i tried to import nefs (D610) it told me that my camera isn't supported :(
