iPad Free iPad from the health insurance company...

My mom received a free iPad from her health insurance company. It’s some kind of program that encourages their policy holders to interact with medical professionals online through their pre-installed app.

Since she already has an iPad of her own, she decided to give this new iPad to me. I have since erased all settings and content and restored it back to factory settings.

Now, my question is, having done that, is there any possibility that they’re somehow able to view or track anything I do on this iPad? I’m not so much worried about others seeing what I do online but I don’t want any of it reflecting on my mom in any way. Especially since this healthcare plan is through her employer.

Am I being paranoid or was a factory reset enough to cover my bases?

Why do you say that? Are you referring to the Apple/iOS TOS or the fine print from the insurance company? If so, I did read it. The only "fine print" are the two paragraphs below, along with an FAQ Page that specifically states "the iPad is yours to keep and use for anything you wish".

Only one (1) iPad® per household. iPad® data plan not included. All charges for use, maintenance, repairs or replacement of the iPad® are your sole responsibility. Except as may otherwise be provided via any iPad® manufacturer warranty, the iPad® is being furnished to you solely on an "AS IS" basis. Florida Hospital makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, as to the operation of the iPad®, or the information, content, materials, products (including software) or other services included on or otherwise made available to you with the iPad®.

Generally, when a company issues iOS devices that are theirs but used by their employees, they have Enterprise certificates installed with custom software that allows them to control, limit, push aspects of their software. Think of it as remote permissions.

I doubt, based on the TOS, that your device has this, but certificates--if any--can be found at Settings>General>Profiles
