I am thinking of ordering a macbook today with my education discount. However I know that during the summer apple usually does the free ipod with it. Does anyone know when this usually starts? Also what is the usual ship time on the macbook? I'm leaving to go crosscountry on June 23 and I need it by then.

Hooray mac education discounts!

I know that last year they started the promotion in the U.S. on June 5th, and in Canada on June 15th. (The years before I think it was July) It goes on until September, and I assume/hope/think they'll be doing it again this year.

However, I have no idea on the ship time. You do have to buy them both at the same time though, and have them on the same bill. Then after you send in a rebate with all the info (UPC, bills, etc) they send you a cheque for up to $179, depending on which model you ordered.

Well Since I'm impatient I'm going to order mine today. I already have an ipod video 30gb so I'm not going to kill myself over not getting a free nano.
