Free iPod with new iMac?!

I ordered a new 24 Inch Imac with my education discount, I also ordered a 2GB ipod because of the rebate would make it free. But recently I read something that said the new iMacs did not qualify for the rebate! Is this true?

It is true in the US...the new machines are not eligible for the program. The list of qualifying machines can be found on this page.

yep, you read right... really ought to have looked into that before purchasing.. heh.

good news though: if you can't afford it (or just don't want it if it's no longer free, which it isn't), just don't open it. if you didn't get any engraving, it should be an easy return - especially if you explain the mix up.
