Free MobileMe for iOS?

So, now the keynote has finished; what are people's thoughts on MobileMe coming for free?

This would tie everything together in my opinion, I thought this rumour was a banker?

What are your thoughts on it? Will we have to wait till next year before Apple rolls this out? People talk about the huge $1bn data center in nc. Is this what it's for, or is it for an itunes cloud, or something else? Although the new iPhone is brilliant, and I'll definitely be getting one, MobileMe would have been a game-changing addition.

Currently it's not free and it wasn't announced that it's changed.

It won't be entirely free. The basic features will probably go free (mail, contacts, calendar), but I can see them still charging for iDisk and Find my iPhone/iPad, which are the features that make MobileMe worthwhile.

i highly doubt that mobileme will ever be free.
