EDIT: See post #3 for solution
Here's my mini-dilemma. I recently bought a Canon Selphy CP1300 in order to print two photos from my iPhone at a time on 4x6 photo paper (so each photo is 4x3 - these are portrait shots for a bulletin board). The problem is Canon's software crops the photos from my iPhone to get them to be 4x6 ratio BEFORE it places them in a side-by-side layout and thus the edges are cut off 🙄 If I use GIMP on my Mac, I can fit two non-cropped iPhone photos at their native 4x3 ratio onto a single 4x6 canvas and AirDrop the exported image to my iPhone, but I'm trying to find a complete iPhone solution so I can print these 2-photo "collages" on the go with just my iPhone and obviously with less work.
So I've now installed 5 photo collage apps from the App Store, but they either turn out to be subscription apps or simply don't do what I want: Pic Stitch, PicCollage, PhotoDirector, Layout from Instagram, and Moodboard. The first free are listed as "free with ads" in the App Store, but it turns out they are basically useless without an expensive subscription - you can't even make a simple 2-photo collage without a watermark. Layout from Instagram is free, but I saw no way to combine two photos without cropping them. Moodboard doesn't have an automatic layout feature, so I'd have to painstakingly resize and position each photo manually.
Surely there's a simple app out there that allows me to stitch two iPhone photos together with no cropping to achieve a 4x6 collage of two 4x3 photos without paying for the rest of my life to use it. Anyone know of one?
