Don't forget that you can get a free phone with a two year contract. Because existing customers can buy an iphone, there are quite a few ways to get a great 3G phone for free or cheap with an iPhone.

Sell it or use it as a sub when your out of the country or wanting fast data.

So this would also work for existing customers? For example, I have a family plan with my g/f, and I could get an iPhone, and get her a free phone as well?

Ok, I am a little confused by your post. Please tell us exactly what you are talking about.

It's simple.

(1) sign up with AT&T and get a free $200-300 phone for agreeing to a two year contract.
(2) buy an iPhone.
(3) Hook the iPhone up to the 2 year contract.
(4) Have both an iPhone and your free phone for the price of an iPhone.

See more of an explanation here.

This works any time you are eligible for a free phone in exchange for agreeing to a 2 year contract.

Whoa... I was eligible for that and I bought my iPhone 2 weeks ago as I agreed to a 2 year contract. Can I still get my free phone???

Not sure. Some carriers have a window where you can cancel the new contract, you may be able to do than and do, well, a do over.
