That's typical, its a BBC show yet it's not free on the UK itunes store but free on the US store.

Is there any trick or tip so that someone in the UK can buy something from the US store? I managed to get in there to find this excellent tv programme, and it said free download, but then it said I could not purchase from the UK. Is there any way to temporarily get something from the US store from time to time? If you use some hotel address as the credit card address, would that work?

Someone could Rapidshare it to you.

Of course :) you don't need a credit card or even a gift card if you are planning on getting a free app from the US iTunes store.

First, google a US address, then click on the US flag in iTunes so it switches you over to the US store. Browse the FREE Apps in the App store, buy a Free app and it will ask you to set up an account. It will give you a payment option as NONE.

Once you are done, wait for the email to verify your New USA iTunes account and then login. You will be able to download the Planet Earth app :)

Thanks, will give me something to do for awhile... Haven't really tried out the full potential of the iPad screen yet, either.

Thanks for the heads up. Best of all, it's narrated by Attenborough. No offense to Sigourney Weaver, who was great.

Life (sequel to Planet Earth) has sucked because I can't stand Oprah's condescending voice. I gave up. Maybe I'll torrent the Attenborough version. :D

Typical, mine is free but it isn't HD!

Could anyone shed some light on why in Australia you can't buy anything that is HD, only rent select movies (not all are HD), I just downloaded the free Pole To Pole episode and its SD.

The reason I bought the BBC version was because the narration was so much better. I can't watch Life simply because of Oprah. If I can't find an HD upload of Planet Earth then I'll probably just buy it again so I can have it on my iPad in HD.
