Can anyone recommend a good and free call blocker that blocks numbers associated with IRS scams, spam calls, bots, etc?

A few show up when I search in the app store but appear to be subscription based...I just don’t think that not being harassed is something I should have to pay a subscription fee for. I’m a member of the national do not call list thing but they call anyway...

The one i use is called HiYa i think. I think it’s free or at least it was when I got it.

If you are with AT&T it is free. The app is called Call Protect.

T-Mo has their own app to do the same. These scammers can defeat this by spoofing their number, I have had it come up with "POLICE" before, try to sell me something.

The government do not call list was likely hacked and they have all of our numbers.

Well the one I use* is updating their list on a regular basis so it keeps working. That's what I'm paying for every month.

Since you're specifically looking for one that does NOT do that, I have to ask; why bother? Whatever you find is going to be out of date so quickly there's really no point in installing it in the first place.

Call Protect works great, users can report numbers so it stays up to date. It’s worked very well for me, catching almost every one. Plus it now offers Enhanced Caller ID for a fee, this works great as well.

I use Call Protect, HiYa premium, and I am now going to look into RoboKiller according to most of your guys recommendations here. I may drop HiYa premium as it seems to do the same thing as Callprotect. I love Call Protect because it handles it all at the network level, before it even reaches the phone, awesome sauce.
