I've tried using textfree and it rarely works. cant find network, email notifications downt work, undelivered texts etc. what apps do you use for free texting either app store legit or through cydia? what works best? thanks

if OP JB's his phone then there are known issues with push and probably texting apps because you replace your SSL with the certificate of the person who wrote the JB app

Textfree doesn't work for me either. I can't get it to send me a verification text. Tried sending dozens of times. Nada.

Piece of crap imo.

I used to use Freetext but now I just use AIM and Yahoo Messenger. It's just like texting and I get notices immediately.

i didn't have any luck with textfree either.... so i tried text+..... it's worked flawlessly!

Give Unlimited-SMS a try. It is FAST, the UI is GREAT and it's just a one time fee (TextFree is $6/year). TextFree is also SO slow compared to Unlimited-SMS. I recently discovered it, and kicked TextFree to the curb!

I helped beta test Unlimited-SMS and it's been great! They listen to our feedback and fix issues quickly!

I've been using Text+ and Text Free Unlimited. So far I haven't been able to pick which one I like best.

Free text for imac

I use SMS with my iphone and it is great but I discover it will cost me for every message if I get it for my imac. Sometimes I want to reply to text messages from computer keyboard.

Is there a free excellent text message service for imac?

What about WhatsApp? Costs a buck but the app has unlimited sms texting. Soon it will support file transfer and blackberry texting too, from what I hear.
