Quick play on it and it's quite nice mixing up the usual music quiz with the other elements. But two thoughts, the frequency of the non-track title elements could be increased a little. Perhaps. I quite like being pushed to the "which album/album name" type.

It also needs a limited round feature, to make the high scores more meaningful? Ie how high a score can I get in x minutes/questions.

Also encountered a bug :( An incoming mail while playing the game caused the game to hang once my iPhone "pinged" an alert about the new email.

Other than that, an interesting and neat diversion.

non-track title questions should increase as your rank increases. They also depend on how many singles you have compared to albums.
I'll do some testing on the incoming alerts. I've already done some and I found no issues... What configuration do you have for email alert ?

Actually I've played this some more now and think the mix of questions is ok. Rather enjoying it actually. It's fun hearing obscure album tracks and trying to work out what they are.

On a more serious note, I am finding this crashing quite a lot, even after rebooting. A question will start, the options will come up but then it just stops before the music starts playing. No buttons work and I need to go out to the Home screen. If I then relaunch the app the game carries on but with a different question. Not sure how the scoring is impacted, as I don't yet understand the scoring (other than getting 100pts & A+ for answering v.quickly on the first couple of questions. Went downhill shortly after ;) )

Edit: just found it doesn't seem to affect scores as I crashed at 1942pts A++ and the when I restsrted the score was the same. Different question mind you.

re email, I have Fetch (30mins, 2 accounts) and Push (2 accounts) An alert sounds on new mail received).

Small bug aside, this is a nicely presented app. I like the use of album artwork.

It never crashed on my two testing devices (one 3G and one 3GS). I've about 5000 songs in my iTunes library. My device are not jailbroken, not sure if this could be a problem. Could you send me the crash reports at iphone at redbits dot com ?

If the app crashes (or you simply close it or receive a call) the current question is skipped and a new one will be used next time.

Rank goes from F to A++ and it's related on your points over #questions.
Points starts from 100 to zero when you have three choices or 200 to zero when you have five. Points decreases when you give the wrong answer. After 20 seconds no points are added or subtracted.

If you answer in less than 0.8 seconds you guessed it so no points ;)

Thanks for the scores info. Penalising those who answer in less than 0.8 secs. Mmm might explain why when I had one I legitimately knew and answered correctly resulted in me not getting a score (it was very distinctive intro). Harsh but can understand logic.

My phone is bog standard 16GB 3g, not JB w/ 2000 songs. Remind me again how to find the crash report.

OK, I'm posting this in fairness to the developer. I can't get to a computer for a while to get the crash report but, I did a restart and haven't had any problems since. Even had an incoming email while playing and no hiccough. So I am at the moment assuming all the trouble was related to my phone.

Sorry vettori, if my initial problems caused concern. I'm now finding your app highly addictive and I like the design. It's also a fun way of re-finding those little heard tracks. Nice one.

Well I made the effort to read the whole thread no just the first post, apparently, the link does not show up on macrumors mobile forum version.

Strange, coz I've only had my iPhone all day (used it to read the initial post, get the app and post replies) and it showed up for me. Still, no probs, I was only having a bit of fun ;)
 
I have not been able to get this app to work at all. First it tells me I dont have any songs on my ipod, which is crazy since I have 27 gigs worth of music on my ipod touch. Then i close out and reopen just to have the app constantly crash! Maybe this will all be fixed in the next update.

Can you send me the crash report ?

The app will tell you that there are no songs if you just switched the language settings on the phone. I found it related to the iTunes library, if you switch language, you have to run the iPod app first so the library can be "initialized".

It was strange but when I checked the app store it had .99 and when I just checked again it said free...

No idea how to send a crash report.

I haven't been changing any languages on either my ipod or itunes.

It's very easy, just go to :

Mac OS X : ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/MobileDevice/[DEVICE_NAME]
Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/[DEVICE_NAME]
Windows Vista: C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\Apple computer\Logs\CrashReporter/MobileDevice/[DEVICE_NAME]

And send me the text files you find in that folder at iphone at redbits dot com.
