I just found this posted over at XLR8yourMac, its a free vector image editor (like Adobe Illustrator). It is not quite as good as Illustrator, but then its free. It works on Mac OS X and 9 (there are two version of the program).

I am using it at the moment and it seems quite good, it is meant to be able to do stuff like skeletal based animation.

www.microsoft.com/products/expression its 55mb in size

I was supprised that they only offer a Mac download. Well M$ is a big company, I expect they cant keep track of all their products.

that's surprising!
both that it is offered for free, and that it is available for mac...
i'm thinking about downloading it... but i already have illustrator...

it must be crappy since it is free, and most M$ software for mac is crap...

from just messing around with it for awhile, it is very confusing and not too powerful... then it crashed so i deleted the program...

it's a waste of your time...

Plus it's a Beta, not free. I suspect when it expires, you have to pay or it stops working. I thought about d/l'ing it, but I already have Illustrator too. And so far I haven't heard anything good about it.

But it's free to try for now, so if you're into that sorta thing, go for it.

Expression is actually a nice program. I have an old version for Windows and OS 9. I'm surprised Microsoft bought it -- I didn't know.
