The only game I play is Freecell on my iphone. It is made Mobiltyware. It was free app I got years ago off the app store. It has many ads that come up with every game I play. The ads do not bother me plus I would gladly pay for this game.

Since COVID I have not played it much because I played most often on the bus on the way to work. I have been working from home since late Feb.

When I went to play I was shown a a screen with a new Privacy Policy and Terms of Service policy. I normally just click I accept but decided to at least look at them. I was shocked all the legalisms. I would have to be a lawyer to understand this. All I want to do is play a couple games on the way to work like I have for years. Needless to say I did not accept and deleted the app.

You’ll be hard pressed not to find disclaimers these days.

If it wasn’t for idiots filing frivolous lawsuits then perhaps we’d not need them, but there’s always some moron stumbles across a loophole and a slimy lawyer willing to exploit it.

And, if it’s not wandering idiots, it’s slimy vendors who want to do unscrupulous things and know that the only thing stopping them is getting us poor schleps to sign our rights away first.

So we get what we get. If it’s any consolation, it could be far far worse.

Now, as to why the hell a bloody card game needs the legal version of the slightly abridged “War and Peace” (both volumes), that’s a bloody good question. Just what the heck were they doing for a card game (with ads)?

Sounds like you made the right decision...

The two games I played on iphone was freecell and mahjong. I haven't tried mahjong in while might have a surprise. It interesting I have been a mac guy since middle 80s. I got laid off in the 90's (plant shutdown) and took a windows NT admin class paid by my company. The instructor asked if anyone played Freecell everyone but me put up their hand. The instructor then took 15 min of class time to show me how to play.
