CarbonCopyCloner (version 3.4.7 is still free and available for download here and works with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion and OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion) and SuperDuper! (the free version does do the basic cloning).
You can use disk utility. Boot your mac in recovery mode and then make a bootable clone of your startup drive.

That's the USB 2.0 model tho, Mine is USB 3.0. Anyway, just touch a button and clone away. It makes a truly identical copy. Be careful doing this with Windows drives. It copies the drive ID sectors too and Windows uses that alone to distinguish unique drives - and will refuse to mount either or both if they are both connected and turned on.

That's pretty cool ... what is the model # of the USB 3.0 one? Probably can't buy it in the US yet however.
MAL-3635SBK is the USB 2.0 version

Yeah, when I search for it I mostly get Japanese sites so you might be right about western availability.
I see the 2-drive USB-3 mal-4535sbku3 unit in the link.
Do you have a 4-drive USB-3 unit?
Any problems with copying rotating disks to SSD? Does it handle multiple partitions and/or with different OS formats?

No, mine is as seen there with just two bays. It copies any OS. OS and logical formats aren't important - it copies the entire low-level structure. And while I haven't tried it with SSD units myself it's advertised to work with them. I don't see why it wouldn't, I guess it's SATA NCQ command based... <shrug>.
