Okay,

My G4 1.5 Ghz PB is freezing up upon startup. It seems to be a network issue? I had my network connected at work today, and when I got home (away from the network) it was looking for it, so I had to reboot since it seemed to have been frozen. When I restart, the only thing that appears is the spotlight icon in the upper right corner, and about 3/4 inch of the white bar behind it.

I can boot into safe mode, but that is it. Everytime I restart, it does the same thing. Are their network preferences I can delete so maybe it isn't looking for it?

Also, I created a new user account, and can boot into that just fine. My G5 at work does this once in awhile, but usually safebooting, the restarting corrects this. I am assuming it is a Tiger issue, since it has never happend to me under Panther.

Anyone experience a similar issue?

have you tried booting it on your work network since it started acting up? if it were to start working again, that might certainly help to pinpoint the problem. at this point things sound pretty vague.

It happend after work, so I won't know until I go back. I would hate to think that if it happend again, to fix it I have to drive all the way back to work. For a quick fix, I just made a new account, and used that.

Okay, think I figured it out if anyone else every has this issue. I have narrowed it down to a font issue. Removed the font and it works fine now. Must be why our computers at work are having the same issue, that is where the font originated from and I placed on my machine to work on a project at home.

Exponto to be exact.
