I bought my first macbook (2.2 Ghz, 1Gig ram) around Nov 2, 2007, right after the Santa Rosa update. In the first week of usage the machine froze 4 times, and when it did, the screen displayed an alternating pattern of different colored lines (like the old test transmissions of TV stations that are not broadcasting). When the freeze happened, the audio card outputted either crackly static noise or short bursts of sound.
After reinstalling Leopard and talking to some "geniuses," they gave me a new macbook (2.2 Ghz, 1Gig ram).
With the new macbook, the graphics problem has disappeared. But last night, while doing light work and playing music through iTunes, the computer froze. The screen didn't "go crazy" like it did before, but the audio "went crazy" and started making short bursts of sound.
Anyone have any suggestions, or know of similar problems? Perhaps there is something wrong with the new SR macbooks.
