Hello, please help me, this is doing my head in. I have an iPhone 6S running iOS 13.5. I have four keyboards installed including French, with my main language being English. But when I’m typing with the ENGLISH KEYBOARD, my English words get autocorrected into French. Present—> présent, realise -> réalisé, the -> thé, etc. Why is French taking over my phone?? I only want my words to autocorrect using the French dictionary when I’m using the French keyboard (obviously??). Under General > Language & Region my preferred language order has English first so I don’t understand. Thanks in advance for any advice

I've had issues with auto correct all through iOS 13 since it's release up to 13.5.1. I just got sick of it and turned it off completely. I don't think it will be fixed until iOS 14 is release but who knows.. I even restored as new and it still had the same problems

Ah man, no solution then. Hopefully they improve it in iOS 14. Thanks for commiserating at least!!

Does it still happen if you select the entire text and then switch your keyboard to English?

Sorry I’m not sure what you mean! Since it most commonly happens when I’m writing text messages, I can’t really select everything and switch between keyboards.

Which keyboard layout are you on when you write your messages, etc.? You can switch a keyboard any time on the fly by pressing on the globe icon in lower-left corner of the screen.
