Surprised this hasn't been mentioned here yet ...

Well worth the $5, IMO ... especially with the online options (a unique stats tracking system that (1) allows you to track your "friends" and [using location services] others playing locally; and (2) tracks alternative stats such as average power-ups per game).

Plus, this supports the staff over at The Iconfactory (which gives tons of free stuff back to the community) ...

Hoping that actual online "battle" play will come in the near future, but even in the interim I highly recommend this title ...

I've been waiting for Frenzic since the day the app store launched. The Mac game is a perfect time waster, and this iPhone version is amazing!

Hate this game.

HATE.

Bought it, and can't stop playing it.

Now I have a glimmer of understanding into the life of a crack whore.

I cannot get past 1500. All my top scores are in the 1400s. Once you get near that score the timer starts going so fast. I have no idea how people got high scores of 10,000+.

Also, when making a pie of all the same color, how does it determine which power up you get?

how do you get up that high??

Also, it's probably random or in order like, 2x multiplier then slow then nuke, the repeat etc.

The key for me is the very beginning. There are 3 colors so I'll try to make 3 pies (one of each color) and will save the top 3 circles for making pies of all the same color. As soon as I get the same piece of a color that has already been played, then I'll put that in the fourth circle. If I get another piece of the same color, then it goes in the fifth circle. I never try to make 2 circles of the same color at once. They key is knowing when to give up and just fill the last piece of the pie with another color so you can free up that circle.

Hope that helps a bit. Again, my tips probably aren't all that good since I'm only getting top scores of 1,500 and other people are 10,000+.

I THINK the powerups are determined by the which particular circle you feel up. For example, if you feel up the top circle with all same color whch is next to the "explosion" powerup, you will get that. To get the timer powerup, you have to do the circle that is above it. and same with the 2x. So i don't think that filling the other 3 circles with the same color will give you a powerup. or am i wrong on that?

EDIT: yep, i jut went and tried it. What i stated above is correct. hope this helps

I just played a game and got 1,850. I had 10 lives left with a score of around 1,000. Then the timer was going so fast and I lost all 10 lives in a matter of a few minutes.

Good to know! THanks for the tip.

EDIT: Now I'll have to change my strategy to use those 3 circles as the ones for trying to fill all with the same color and the other 3 for just trying to place pieces. This actually makes it a bit harder since it was easier to visually see everything when I tried to use the top 3 circles for filling all the same color. Now I have to quickly glance all around to decide the next move.

Tried one game with my new strategy and it seems to work as I got close to 1,900. Now that I know which circles get you which powerup, I'm trying to decide which one is most useful... timer slowdown or bomb?
