Did Apple nix the round recent contact circles at the top of the app switcher completely in iOS 9?

Didn't they just introduce this feature like last year?! Am I really the only one who used those? Or did a setting I'm not finding get turned off somewhere along the update process?

The whole favourites section is nearly gone for non brand new 6s and 6s+ iPhones. You can access contacts from moving over to the left of page 1 in your home screen, but it's not really a true favourites. It's more a recent and suggested contacts based on time and day when you normally communicate with someone.

True favourites is now used only on 6s and 6s+ via 3D Touch on the phone icon from the home screen.

Thanks for that info - that's good to know that they'll be back when I eventually upgrade but still stinks for now. I really liked the contacts in the app switcher.
