I have 4 iphones and almost daily, swap out phones. Some days I feel like having a bigger screen so I'll use the Max. Other days I like the convenience of the SE. Other days the lightness of the 7. Another day the best of all worlds and use the XS. Does anyone else do this? And can I damage the SIM trays by doing this? Am I nuts?

I suppose the only thing that could degrade would be the o ring seal on the sim tray on the newer water resistant models. Don't be getting them wet in a few months time, lol.
Either you like variety or you don't know what you like. Either way, do what makes you happy.
I wasn't able to do this because of my watch. It was such a massive hassle switching the watch between phones when I felt like carrying something different. Half the time it connected perfectly and the rest of the time I'd have to completely wipe the watch and restore from the backup once connected to the "new" phone.
I had the exact same issue. So I just left it paired with the phone I used most, the XS. I got tired of re-loading all my songs. The watch didn't need paired with each phone anyway to get phone calls, texts or emails. Just needed to be tied to my carrier on one line. Heartrate monitoring I could live without.

You're right. I'm indecisive. And I do like variety. Staves off the boredom. And every day I can look forward to the excitement of using a new, of different, phone. Same with my ipads. One day i like the ipad mini cause it's easier to hold. Another day I enjoy the huge screen of my 12.9.

You’re not nuts, it’s nice you have the ability to swap phones out at will. As long as your careful not to damage the oring on the phones that have water resistance, I don’t see any negative effects to the devices. Just curious, do you have to activate the phone when swapping sim cards or do they just work? I have a backup 6s that I just jailbroke and was thinking of swapping sims from my X to have a change of pace for a bit..
All phones are unlocked or Verizon and you can just insert the SIM card and it works for whatever phone number is assigned to that SIM. No activation necessary. Then I just use a backup of one of my phones on the icloud. All the apps transfer over.

Who’s your carrier. The poster prior to you said it only works on GSM carriers not Verizon or Sprint
Not the case with Verizon. Swapping SIM from one phone to another was all it took for me.
You can't swap back and forth between GSM and CDMA. You can Google which carriers are which category. The man posted above noted it correctly.
So I can swap sim from my X to my 6S and it should just start working normally. They are both Verizon phones..
I'm with Verizon but you can swap between your carrier phones (ATT, Verizon, etc) and unlocked phones which are not tied to any carrier.
Not true. Mine are all Verizon and/or unlocked. I actually swap between 6 phones.

Just pop out the SIM then, no need to turn it off, and put in the other phone. Cell service will immediately follow the phone with the SIM card. Nothing else necessary. You can then use the SIM-free phone on WiFi but cant use for texting or calls.

I thought that wasn't always the case with voice because they still use CDMA for NON-LTE areas?
I don't know anything about that but Verizon is CDMA and the phones I purchased on Swappa were CDMA so theyd be Verizon compatible and the SIM swap is seemless.
Like if the phone drops to 3g or 2g, which is know will be shutdown at the end of this year. CDMA didn't use sim cards before LTE, that's what I meant...
I have not done this. But, I do switch from iOS to Android often. Just last week I switched back to iOS (iPhone Xs Max).
To ME, iOS to iOS would be annoying with an Apple Watch, too...
