Over the past couple days, my iPad has been frequently asking for my iTunes password. At first, it was happening almost constantly, but it's toned down...a bit. Usually, it just asks me whenever opening the app store or each time I open a book on iBooks. Obviously, it stops for a few minutes if I enter my password, but that's more of a hassle than hitting cancel--also, since I don't know why it's doing this, I'm leery of entering it.

I've tried restarting my iPad, and I have nothing downloading. Anyone else having this problem?

That's strange. Perhaps one of the apps you have installed is trying to access the iTunes store constantly?

I'd just knock it on the head with a Restore and see if that fixes it. If not take it to an Apple store if there is one nearby and let them have a look at it and see what they can do.

My iPad has been doing the same thing lately! Usually when I unlock it after I haven't use it for a bit.

Don't have an iPad yet (awaiting 3Goodness), but my iPhone does this whenever I had previously tried to download an app *FROM THE STORE WHILE ON MY IPHONE* that due to its large size or some other connectivity issue does not and will not finish downloading. The fix then would be to go into iTunes under the Store > Check for Available Downloads menu and complete the download on your computer, then synch.

Basically an incompletely downloaded app, is tryng to complete downloading.
