I had to set my iphone 7 Plus as new under iOS 13.1 because of some kind of data corruption issue. That was over a week ago. Since then there is no “frequently visited” section in the Safari home page despite me using Safari fairly frequently. I’ve tried toggling the “Frequently Visited“ setting off and on in Safari, but it’s still not showing up. It shows up fine on my iPad which was upgraded from iOS 12.4.1.

How long should it take for the “frequently visited“ section to show up?

I’ve always kept that setting turned off, but enabled it to investigate your issue, it seems to work well on my iPhone XR with iOS 13.1.2. Being that you just set your iPhone up as a new device, perhaps it takes time for Safari to learn your “frequently visited sites”. I’m wondering if this issue will resolve as you use your phone.

Perhaps, but it’s been over a week.

Actually from what I’ve read the frequently visited should sync across devices so if it’s on my iPad, it should be on my iPhone.

I just tried turning off Safari syncing on my iPhone, clearing all history and data for Safari, restarting the iPhone and turning syncing back on. My favorites and history came back, but no frequently visited. This seems like a bug.

Edit: I tried calling Apple and now I remember why I don’t do that. Speaking to someone who spoke to a senior advisor told me that feature “only exists if you restore from a backup” and that “it was removed in iOS 13” which I know isn’t true.

Safari syncing is erratic currently. I have 4 devices on my iCloud account. One, an iPhone 7 shows no history whatsover. I’ve toggled the Safari setting under iCloud as well as signed out and in to my iCloud account. That works for a minute but not again, and what history items do then appear no others so afterwards. Between my iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPad Pro, and laptop History items don’t match. I tried deleting History on my MacBook Pro while keeping cookies and web site data, that should have cleared the History on the other devices as well as removed the Frequently visited display. It only cleared one device, my 11, but not the iPad Pro. When my iPhone 11 was cleared, it took about a day or so before Frequently visited was shown again on that device. I’m afraid anything under Safari in iOS 13 is currently unreliable, it may work on some devices and for some people but not others. Very inconsistent. I wouldn’t try anything drastic until at least 13.2 is released. And pray that improves some of this.
