Hi everyone

I have done a fresh 10.8 installation and discover that something called PlayerUILocalizable.strings is listed under Users & Groups as an item to be opened automatically upon boot. See attached screenshot.

Googling the title brings me to what appears to be file sharing sites though there's the occasional reference to Adobe.

Any ideas what this is? Do I need it? Is it part of Flash or something?

Thanks for any insight. I hate it when stuff I don't know what it is shows up. Gah.

/p

My best guess is that it is for language translations.

How long have you been using the computer since your "clean" install? I see Skype and Dropbox which are not part of the install. So it's hard to say which software placed it there.

But I second what Icy1007 said, remove it and see what happens :)

Thanks for the replies. I did the clean install yesterday evening and added Dropbox and Skype.

Oddly, when I rebooted this morning Users & Groups reports that it can't find the thing, whatever it was. So problem solved it seems.
