I have a 533 MHz G4 at work and I need to wipe it completely free and start fresh on it. I don't have the Restore disk (it is a few years old) and I was wondering what the easiest way is to get a fresh start on the machine.

Thanks!

The easiest way would be to buy a Tiger DVD (provided you have a DVD drive in it...you probably do) and start up from it by holding down the option key on boot with the disk in the drive. Select the disk to start up from, use Disk Utility to clear and reformat the drive, and then go through the installer.

You'll have a fresh machine with the newest OS.

And of cource if you dont have a dvd drive apple will give it to you on cd for something like $5
