Freshly 3GS PurpleRa1n'd Stuck on Apple Screen

So I jailbroke using PurpleRa1n. I used the tutorial on iClarified and everything went smooth.

Opened Cydia, selected the User of the 3 choices. Then updated when that screen prompted. Restarted phone.

Opened Cydia, and downloaded Winterboard. Then I think it restarted the phone again.

Now I can not get past the Apple logo screen after all that. I've kept trying and it loads the screen and disappears after about 30 seconds.

So, anything I can do other than restoring?

Try turning off the phone by holding the home and power buttons until its totally off.

Then turn it back on normally. It seems to take a lot longer to start up this way, but it usually works for me. I had a similar problem.

It is totally off. I can not get it to turn back on. I have tried using both the Power and Home, it brings up the Apple logo, I see that for about 30 seconds - then back to black screen.

i had the same problem. it just stays at the apple logo. you'll have to restore it and jb it again.

Ah man - OK, thanks for the info!

How do you get in the DFU/restore mode again? iTunes won't recognize the iPhone.

Nevermind - the phone finally started up after only 100 attempts. Just all my icons now are all jacked up. Icon image and names are for the same program.

when its off, press and hold the home button and then plug in the usb cable.
