Okay, my friend misplaced her phone. I was told she can find it using MobileMe except the phone battery is dead by now.

So is she SOL?

If the battery is dead then you won't be able to track it. However, maybe if someone finds it they will recharge it to see if they can find the owner, and when it has been recharged you can find it..

You can also send a message to the phone through mobileme. This message will be displayed when the phone turns on. You could write something like "Lost phone, please call XXXXXXX Thanks a lot, owner"

Obvious question, but I have to ask anyway. Does she have a MobileMe subscription, and has she gone through the setup instructions to enable it on her iPhone?

If not, she is SOL.

If she has, she can log into the MobileMe website, and it will give her the last known location. Doesn't matter that the battery is dead. It'll tell her where it was before it died.

Thank you. I will ask. Thanks to Josie as well.
