Been monitoring the prices for MM retail & family boxes over on Amazon and a number of other retailers and the general trend seems to be a tightening of supplies while a deep climb in prices.

Ex. A family pack on Amazon used to be ~$80 back in Dec 2010. As of now it is $129.99, close to retail price from Apple. Amazon no longer sells these and it seems most third parties have exhausted their supplies as well.

What does this mean? MobileMe is likely to be revamped very very soon.

Either the services will become free, or the pricing will change. But seeing how stock levels are dropping everywhere, its likely to become free.

Free Find My iPhone for example, was probably the first trial in testing MM servers to handle increased loads.

All this is of course speculation. Hopefully the better will happen this thursday alongside the new MBPs.

I hope it comes soon if it is going to be free. My mobileme is up March 7th. I am fixing to change to a family pack.

That being said I really doubt it is going all free.
