Hi,

My iPhone 4s is become to slow after the update to iOS 8, and now I'm evaluating to switch to another product.

The price of a iPhone 6 is too high, and I think that buy a 5S is not a very good choice (I think that this year Apple will launch 6S...)

What do you suggest?

I want:

- high quality telephone
- very high quality photos
- stable and updated regularly

I'm evaulating Android and Windows Phone platform.

Budget near 400 $, no operator lock or monthly subscription

Thanks

What do you think about one plus?

It seems like a good budget Android device. I'd go so far as to sy it seems like ä good device period. Lollipop should come to it, and they're making their own deviation from Cyanogenmod if you don't like it. The camera, I've read, is fairly good. I don't know if they're still pushing their invite system.

Lumia 1020.

I haven't read a lot of good things about the stability of that phone. Also, it's getting on in age. I don't know what the support for the device is going to b, firmware wise. So he'd be stuck with a slower camera (albeit a good camera)

Why is the 5s a bad choice just because Apple will release a 6s this year?

My top 5 Android devices within your price range would be:

1) OnePlus One: Still invite only, but you can purchase from them on Tuesdays at 12am Pacific time.
2) Motorola Moto X: Get the Pure Edition. Design your own colors and stuff.
3) Sony Xperia Z3c: Compact device compared to the other. A little bit more than your desired price but worth considering. Amazing battery life.
4) LG G3: Get an unlocked version from Amazon or a similar place.
5) Nexus 5: Still usable but fairly poor battery life/camera.

You could also look into last year's models especially with Samsung and HTC releasing this year's flagships in the next couple weeks.

I don't have experience with Windows phones so I can't comment about those.

I went from 4 to one Mini after months of playing with different phones in stores so that's what I recommend just play with them eventually one will agree with you.

Moto X. Would probably be your best option outside of getting another iPhone.

Z3 Compact seems to match with your criterias but its little bit over your budget
Its one of best battery life i ever had
Quality of photos is amazing if you put manual mode only!
Waterproof, amazing design, compact, amazing battery life, good specs overall...
A true killer
Moreover, it looks like an iPhone 4/4S clone ;)
(in term of size, its almost same size as 5S but sightly larger)
Probably the best alternative to iPhone 4/5 because its similar in design and awesome performance overall
