ill start off by saying that my brother has an iphone 5, and my first phone was a samsung focus, second phone an iphone 4 that i got from my cousin for $50, the phone i had for the past few months is an htc one x that i fixed the screen on. i like ios and all, but ive used it since 1.0, and its hardly changed, android is nice, but i only use it now to beam youtube videos to my google tv. i recently bought a Lumia 920 for $50 (had an ATT rep lock me in the black friday pricing because i was only 5 days away from an upgrade) and i must say windows phone is all around more intuitive than ios and android, the phone is a lot sturdier than my brothers iphone 5, which feels like if i squeeze it too hard or put it in my back pocket im going to bend the thin in half. the screen is GORGEOUS, the camera is, well, im just going to come out and say it: ITS FREAKING AWESOME.

the wireless charging pad i got for free is totally awesome, i was convinced it was a gimmick, but it is just totally amazingly nice to have. i will keep this post as a refference because within the next 2 generations of iphones there will be wireless charging of some sort, and apple is going to take all the credit, or claim that everyone else does it wrong and they are doing it right. Ok, rant aside, its just plain NICE, im buying 2 more of the chargers and i STILL havent reached the price of my brothers 16gb iphone 5, and did i mention the lumia 920 has 32gb of storage STANDARD??
i have built a wireless charger into the center console of my 97 silverado, so i place the phone in the console and it starts charging! no wires showing at all!
and its so nice to be able to plop the phone down next to my bed or on my desk.

so if you're considering upgrading phones, seriously consider the lumia 920, its only $99 right now and thru february comes with a FREE charging plate. around Christmas it will probably go for cheaper than i bought it.

as to people who say the apps arent there, the only app i cant find that i used on my iphone or android was scramble with friends, thats about it.

who else has one? sound off below to tell us what you think

Edit: can a mod change the title to "from iphone to Android to Lumia 920: Best upgrade ever!

Personally, I like Android better than WP8. There are just too many things that are lacking in WP. It's still a beta OS for me.

Also, you can change the title of your thread by yourself. Click "edit", then "go advanced", then change the title.

I don't own a 920, but from all the floor models I have played with it feels well built, the OS is very smooth (and considering I have probably played with about 20 floor models that thousands of others have) that is impressive.

I think it is a very good smartphone. Easily in the top 5 and well above the iPhone 5. My only issue with So are those god-awful colored and big-a$$ tiles. I want to puke when I see those. I know why they used tiles and the live updates within each tile make them functional, it is just ugly looking IMO. If there was a way to root the 920 so I could change the look of that home screen, i would have no problem buying one. Xbox integration is an added plus.

Hopefully, sales of the 920 grow and more app development takes place. If Microsoft keeps progressing, I may buy one.

The Lumia 920 is a pretty good phone with a very good price and nicely integrated wireless charging. This is the phone the masses *should* be buying. I would have bought it instead of the Galaxy Note 2 if it didn't seem like Microsoft was always playing catch up for the past few years. There is bad brand perception related to Windows and Microsoft that turn a lot of people off. On the technical side, Windows Phone 8 can't support 1080p screens which has caused HTC to stop developing it's flagship Windows Phone for next year. Every new flagship Android Phone is now coming with 1080p 5 inch screens and Microsoft is once again behind the curve.

To make matters worse, the update delays for Windows Phone is just as bad as that of Android phones. The battery life tests from the reviews I've read for any Windows Phone is only standard, nothing stellar like the Motorola Razr Maxx or the Galaxy Note 2.

Yes, if Microsoft provided a supported method of rooting Windows Phone, it would gain a lot more developer support. But I don't see that ever happening with Microsoft and there just isn't as big of a developer community for Windows Phone for someone to actively be finding ways to root it.

I bought an 820 (also $50, but without any wireless charging fun, annoyed about that) because I didn't like the size of the 920. I must say though, it's a fantastic phone with so many cool gizmos built in. If my local AT&T store ever gets any charging shells in stock, I'll pick one up too.

WP is very fluid, and much more exciting than iOS.

I bought an 820 too (after using the 920 for a few days...too massive). Love it. I just wish the resolution was better...but it's still a damn fine display. Just FYI I have a wireless charging shell and ended up taking it off after a week. It makes the phone a bit fatter and heavier.

I have a Lumia 822 through Verizon and I'm enjoying it. I had an HTC Trophy (WP7) and WP8 is quite an upgrade. There are some rough edges to be sorted out, but overall this phone is a pleasure to use.
