i am trying to recreate the front row effect (where you rotate the icons) in flash mx can anyone give me some tips how to do this efficiently ?

Gokhan, please be patient. You've asked for help on particularly advanced Flash question on a forum that is completely unrelated to that topic.

No one is treating you badly, we just don't know how to answer your question.

Don't sweat it. I ask questions on here all the time. Sometimes they don't get answered. The great thing about MR is the wide variety of people and their skill sets, but we still can't have everything.

Good luck.

look for the tutorial on 3d carousel

that should get you started

my 2¢...

The "bitmapdata object" can automatically generate the reflection effect using actionscript.
Here's a useful tut I googled for you:
http://pixelfumes.blogspot.com/2005/09/flash-8-bitmapdata-image-reflection.html

I think I would try to do the "icons on a merry-go-round" animation by linking the icons to an oval path.
At the top of the oval (representing far back) I would scale them down.
At the bottom of the oval (representing near front) scale them up.
The main difficulty (or most fun) will be the ease-in/ease-out tweaking.

well gave it a go in mx2004 and cs3 but no go so ill give it a go in flash 8 as the syntax is the same as the tutorial
