Hello. I installed Andrew Escobar's Front Row Enabler :)mad: ) on my iMac G5 running Tiger 10.4.8. Not reading the comments about 10.4.8, I ran it and now my login window is corrupted. I cannot login, I get to a blue screen where my login window will not load. I need to get this working again with my old files in place. PLEASE help me.

Also, if you come here to reply and say "You got what you deserved for installing a hack"/etc, please, don't. I am asking for strictly support information.

PLEASE, Any help appreciated.

Kevin

How about an Archive and Install?

Do you have another machine that you could use to boot your borked system into target mode and pull your data off before going any further?

Nope. Only one Mac.

I can't launch the disk at startup, I am holding "C" but it just ignores me and goes ahead as normal?

From the Front Row Enabler website...

Solution 1: Install the Update to 10.4.8
You will need a working Mac and a FireWire cable. Connect the Macs using the FireWire cable. Restart the Mac that won’t login to Mac OS X, holding down the “T” key to boot into Target Disk Mode.

On the working Mac (the “host”) you should see the corrupt Mac (the “target”) on the desktop. Download the Mac OS X 10.4.8 Combo Update on the host Mac. When installing the update, select the target Mac’s volume to update its system files (thereby restoring the corrupted system files).

Solution 2: Archive and Install
If you don’t have a FireWire cable and an available Mac, but do have the Mac OS X 10.4 Install DVD, you can perform an Archive and Install. This solution takes about 30 minutes, and requires you to again update to 10.4.8.
